The accompanying copy of a Memorandum from No. 2: the Surveyor General, shows that its annual rental would be £181.0.7¼, being £93.7.6 per annum in excess of the rental of Lots 29 and 30. I annex for Your Lordships' information the reply No.273 of the 1st Instant from the Colonial Secretary to the Steam Company, with their answer thereto, and submit the application No.4 for Your Lordship's favourable consideration, to which I am mainly induced from the circumstance of Lots 29 and 30 not suiting the object of the Steam Packet Company, feeling that they should derive every facility from the Government for the furtherance of an object which will be generally of such great public benefit.
